Main duties of the job

The role will involve acting as gatekeeper for the range of programmes, aligning them to the strategic portfolios and agreeing with the Head of Transformation & Improvement Office the processes required.

The post holder will have a project and programme management background and will need to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring the development of the programme remains aligned to local, regional, and national priorities. They will report directly to the Head of Transformation & Improvement Office and act as a competent resource to support the successful delivery of the transformational agenda.

The post holder will be a professional manager with freedom to act, working across the organisation and working in conjunction with the Head of Service Improvement, Head of Value Based Health Care, Head of Care Pathways and Head of Transformation Analytics to collaboratively drive the programmes to successful outcomes.

Critical to this role will be the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across BCUHB with and managerial and clinical staff, demonstrating significant knowledge, experience and skills in the management of programmes and projects. The post holder will have strong organisation and communication skills, to have an impact on peers and gain confidence of clinical and professional leaders.

Essential criteria

  • Degree and/or management or professional qualification at diploma level or equivalent demonstrated knowledge
  • Masters in Healthcare related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince 2 or equivalent.

  • Management or professional qualification at post graduate level
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Programme/project management experience at a senior level.
  • Significant relevant management experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Evidence of ability to implement and manage change in a multi-agency environment.
  • Experience of Financial and HR management in a complex organisation.
