As an award-winning and leading UK University, we are transforming and strengthening our directorate function to help us move forward into the future. To achieve this, we have created a new role of Director of Commercial & Campus Services to help lead a range of commercial and soft services at Aston and continue the transformation of the offering with a core focus on customer service. Part of the role will be to create a new customer-led service model and change the way we deliver campus services here at Aston.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer you will manage a dynamic portfolio of services including:

  • Sport and Nursery 
  • Catering 
  • Security
  • Reception 
  • We are looking for candidates with the following: 

  • Significant knowledge and experience of co-ordinating front-line services to customers and significant experience in the Facilities Management industry
  • Experience of building and leading a culture of continuous improvement, high-quality service delivery, customer service standards and demonstrating value
  • A strong track record of excellent people leadership, management, and motivational skills at all levels
  • Experience of successfully engaging external bodies, sector networks, public and private sector partners
  • Proven relevant experience of leading a large function in a relevant, complex organisation
  • Personal resilience and the ability to manage a broad range of activities simultaneously
  • The ability to prioritise across a broad portfolio and apply effective judgement to decision making
  • Ability to analyse and interrogate financial plans and performance data and communicate the implications to a range of audiences.
