Salary: £20,058.19 – £22,120.44 per annum

There are two full time positions within the HR Shared Services Team, one working within the Payroll Administration section and the other working in the Pension Administration section. Please state on your application form which post(s) you are interested in.

Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity to come an join the HR Shared Services Team working in either the Payroll or Pension Administration sections. The successful candidates will be involved in the processing of payments to all employees of the Council on a monthly basis or the pension benefits to all members of the Scottish Borders Council Pension Fund.

The duties will include: –
Processing changes on relevant systems, ensuring that all information received is accurate.
Calculation of payroll payments in accordance with current Legislation and Terms and Conditions of Service.
Calculation of Local Government Pension Scheme benefits in accordance with current Legislation.
Recording of performance information for Service Level Agreement and Key Performance Indicators.
To work in close partnership with colleagues in functional processing teams within HR Shared Services
Contribution to process improvements and review of working practices to ensure fitness for purpose and efficiency
Use of relevant computer systems, including Microsoft Office suite
Active engagement in learning processes and underpinning policy and procedures across HRSS functional areas of Payroll, HR and Pensions
Contribute to team effectiveness through active participation in departments activities linked to overall organizational aims and objectives

Essential

HNC in a relevant discipline or extended period of processing experience in one or more relevant functional area
Experience of working in a high volume, deadline driven customer service environment
