The Role

Vale Referrals are seeking a Rotating Intern who would like to fast-track their career, skills, and knowledge. This is ideal for veterinary professionals who would like to consider starting a certificate.
The position will involve day-to-day care of in-patients, managing cases, scrubbing in, and assisting with referral clinicians and the specialist team.

The duties will involve carrying out ward rounds, any procedures required, checking paperwork and updating referring vets where needed; triaging calls out of hours, and liaising between nurses and vets regarding patient care. Ensuring that all patients are assessed and calling owners to update them is part of the weekend and daytime duties. Additionally, ensuring lab reports are updated and correct and handing over patients to the next duty clinician is essential.

Full support, mentoring and encouragement is given to you, and the opportunity can fast-track veterinary professionals into their future careers in medicine or surgery.

Rotations will be on a fortnightly basis between surgery and medicine and revolve around a 40-hour week with a 1:3 weekend rota.
