About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for Senior Environmental Manager to join our team to work across a section of our project.

Role Purpose:

Lead and co-ordinate the environmental team for a set of Sub-Lots to facilitate construction activities and provide assurance against legal, contractual and other requirements.

To support the Head of Environmental Sustainability to ensure full integration of environmental requirements and management of risks and opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage key environmental issues and escalate as required.
  • Provide support to the Sub-Lot Project and Construction Directors on environmental performance.
  • Recruit and co-ordinate environmental resources for division.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistency of approach across the project with the other Divisional EMs.
  • In coordination with the core team environmental specialists and EMR team, ensure that construction methodology and programme is compliant with legal requirements and EMRs.
  • Collaborate with all other parties as required for the discharging of the responsibilities above.
  • Who we’re looking for

    The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Large scale linear project experience (eg rail or highway).
  • Experience with either a consulting engineer and or main civil engineering contractor
  • Experience of all aspects of environmental design and works and impacts on 3rd Parties
  • Background working as an Environmental Manager
  • The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Qualified Environmental specialist or a related discipline is desirable; membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous
  • Holding a valid CSCS card to visit sites is desirable
