Our reward package

We’re hiring for a IT Asset Manager based in Exeter HQ with hybrid remote working.

Your total reward package is potentially worth up to £.00 annually, which includes basic salary, market forces supplement, potential corporate bonus and employer pension contributions.

As our IT Asset Manager , your starting salary will be £.00 and you will have opportunities to progress to £.00 over time. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band minima.

In addition you will be paid £.00 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills. You will be paid this market driven allowance from April until March in your monthly pay whilst performing this role.

Job Purpose

As our IT Asset Manager , the key duties are:

  • Ensure that requests for ITAM services are actioned in a timely manner including creating/amending IT asset records, procurement, and audit activities.
  • Provide clear and understandable compliance and warranty reports and respond to requests from Met Office stakeholders for specific IT Asset Management data information.
  • Document developed processes to ensure that they can be used, supported and maintained throughout their operational lifetime.
  • Actively promote the Met Office’s ITAM Policies and best practices across the organisation.
  • Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

  • Be able to demonstrate experience of IT Asset Management practices in either Software or Hardware Asset Management.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of Asset Management tooling.
  • Show evidence of an organised and structured approach to work.
  • A proven ability to communicate easily, enthusiastically and professionally with a range of customers.
  • Good team-working skills and when appropriate the ability to work to your own initiative.

    We operate an on-call roster in Technology to provide 24/7/ support to respond to operational service requirements. This post may be part of an on-call roster and the postholder would be required to participate in an on-call roster where in operation.
