Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Emergency Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Practitioner/Paramedic practitioner who is committed to working as part of our MIU Team delivering an excellent, caring service to our patients. We have a diverse multi-skilled multi-disciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioners, ENPs Nurses, Assistant Practitioners and Heath Care Assistants. The successful candidate will undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment/referral and discharge of patients with minor illness and injury.

The Practitioners/Clinicians manage these Patients who present to the MIU with an undifferentiated diagnosis through a process of assessment, formulation of a clinical management plan and on to discharge or transfer for definitive care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse
  • At Masters Level or equivalent supplemented by specialist training, experience/completion of formal competency package
  • ENP qualification Level 4 (MSC)/3 BSc
  • Post-Registration Teaching & Assessing qualification
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma
  • Desirable criteria

  • ENB 199 or equivalent within specialty, ALS
  • Accreditation at Fellow level with the Faculty of Emergency Nursing
  • Degree specialty
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Substantial post- registration experience in A&E
  • Significant experience as a practicing ENP
  • Completion of competencies and framework

  • Primary Care experience
  • Knowledge
