The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team here at Lamond Veterinary Clinic! We are passionate about fully utilising and developing the skills and experience of our RVNs. Part of your role will involve running consultation clinics (e.g. class IV laser therapy, vaccines and long term medication administration) with the support of our approachable and helpful vets. Your in-patient care duties are supported by 3 hardworking and caring veterinary care assistants. You will also be involved in imaging/ dental/ theatre/ anaesthesia. Our RVNs also perform scale and polishes and take dental radiographs.

Rota and Salary

  • 40hours over 5days with a shared in the weekend rota. No out of hours. Varying shift patterns (no nights)
  • Salary of up to £28,000, negotiable depending on experience.

    We are an RCVS accredited, ISFM silver cat friendly first opinion practice. We are a thriving practice with an exceptional reputation. We are passionate about staff development and training at every level of the team and invest in all interests. We have several vet and vet nurse certificate holders and several members of our team undertaking them.

    The site is currently undergoing a state-of-the-art refurbishment and expansion and we are very well equipped with surgical and diagnostic kit. Facilities include: multiparameter monitoring, two theatres (with mono and bipolar surgical electrocautery units), double dental suite (with radiography), ECG, ultrasound (with capacity for echocardiography), endoscopes, digital radiography, and a Class IV laser.

    A high proportion of our clients seek gold standard treatment, and our caseload is large and varied with many longstanding, loyal clients. Working closely with the Scottish SPCA and other local charities you will also have opportunities to meaningfully contribute to animal welfare.

    About the Team and Culture

    We have a cohesive and passionate team. This is compromised of 9 vets, 12 RVNs, 3 VCAS and 8 support staff. We have vets with certificates in surgery and medicine, and RVNS with certificates in ECC, feline medicine and dentistry.

    Applicant Requirements

    Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse, must be confident with all areas of first opinion nursing duties.
