Our client is an innovative insight and strategy consultancy who work a 4 day week and are on the lookout for a Director of Data Strategy to help them define the future of research.

This consultancy uses technology and behavioural economics to understand human behaviour. They focus within the FMCG, sportswear, tech and music sectors, working with some of the biggest brands around such as Diageo, Asics and Sony. They work at a very high-end and have an in-house design team to ensure their work is both creative and visually impressive.

In this role you will be overseeing the Data Strategy team, working closely with the Partners, to lead and define what data strategy means both within the agency and also within their industry.

You will play a key role in combining the very best of quantitative research with creative and strategic thinking.

In order to be successful in this role you will:

  • Have strong prior agency side experience of designing and carrying out primary research studies, with a focus on quantitative research – whilst you won’t necessarily be getting your hands dirty with the nitty gritty, you will be able to lead on the strategic thinking
  • Comfortable with building and developing strong client relationships, becoming a trusted partner and keeping conversations going outside of live projects
  • Commercial individual who is both able to come up with and communicate a new data strategy proposition, as well as getting involved with pitching and proposal writing
  • Enjoy innovating processes and can help the team adopt new and innovative methods of data collection, interpretation and delivery – they’re looking for someone who is frustrated by hearing “that’s not how quant is done” and wants to do something about it
  • Excited by the opportunity to explore and trial new methodologies of data collection, analysis and outputs
  • Be responsible for developing other data strategists within the team, as well as developing the data strategy abilities of the broader insight team and overseeing the work
  • In terms of their working culture, they are very forward thinking and have a human-centric approach where they have reduced their working week to 4 days in order to better balance their working lives, although they still get paid for 5 days. This makes it somewhere that people enjoy coming to work and want to stay for the long-term.
