The Role
The is looking for a suitably qualified dentist for the role of Clinical Fellow. This post is intended as a first step in a clinical academic career. You will be expected to contribute to teaching within the School, you will also be required to become actively involved in the research programme of the School and to register for a PhD under staff regulations which will be based on one of the School’s three research themes (Educational, Translational Oral Biosciences, Applied Oral Health). The post will include funding for PhD tuition fees as well as the opportunity to take a suitable teaching qualification (such as the Practice Scheme, leading to accreditation as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy subject to satisfactory completion).
It is essential that you have a BDS (or equivalent), detailed knowledge of general dentistry applicable to undergraduate curriculum and significant experience of UK General Dental Practice beyond Foundation Training Level. You will have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and have a strong commitment to develop your teaching and research skills.Â
The appointment is full time, tenable for 6 years in the first instance.
