An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medicines Information Pharmacist to lead the Service . The successful candidate will lead a team that includes a junior rotational Pharmacist to ensure that high quality advice is provided to enquirers.

We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking, dynamic individual who is keen to learn, innovate and drive the service forward.

Main duties of the job

To provide and develop a high-quality Medicines Information Service to patients and all healthcare personnel within Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust (HUHFT) and the locality of Hackney.

To actively participate in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and to provide operational support to the dispensary as necessary

To manage, develop and provide medicines information support to all enquirers within HUHFT and the locality of Hackney

To provide training and support to pharmacists rotating through the MI service (including pre-registration and band 6 pharmacists)

To support clinical service provision and provide dispensary cover as necessary

To support new drugs application and the work of the committees

To be the main pharmacy contact for Kelsius temperature monitoring system

To lead and co-ordinate in MHRA recalls & specialised service circulars

Essential criteria

  • masters degree in pharmacy
  • GPhC registered
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy
  • Desirable criteria

  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy

  • An appreciation of the role of regional MI centres
