Main duties of the job

You would work closely with a supportive paediatric multidisciplinary team to lead developments across a range of paediatric dietetic services including infant feeding, coeliac disease, allergies, enteral tube feeding and selective eating across both primary and secondary care. You would be supported by our existing paediatric dietetic colleagues, and a newly funded dietetic assistant dedicated to the paediatric service. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Deliver highly specialist seamless dietetic care to individuals and groups in the field of paediatrics; supporting management of complex cases and promoting empowerment of individuals/families to self manage health conditions. Team leads delegated nutrition and dietetic staff ensuring consistent evidence based standards of care and effective multi-disciplinary working across BCUHB and with wider stakeholders acting as the area lead for paediatric dietetics.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • State registered Dietitian (with HCPC)
  • Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in dietetics
  • Accredited post graduate study relevant to clinical area at masters level or equivalent
  • Clinical supervisory skills training
  • Desirable criteria

  • Other professional, technical or academic qualification which relate to clinical practice
  • Motivational Interviewing techniques
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Broad, well established dietetic practice
  • Significant experience of dietetic delivery in the field of paediatrics
  • Experience of team leadership
  • Delegation to qualified and non qualified staff
