Main duties of the job
To work in partnership with the paediatrics team to provide evidence based care to children and young people; this will include group and one-to-one work.
To see young people in multiple setting including as inpatients and outpatients but at times in their own homes or education/social care setting
To establish new and innovative working practices in collaboration with health and other agencies as appropriate.
To liaise with other disciplines and agencies in order to ensure co-ordination of care .
To liaise with dietetic and paediatric colleagues and develop appropriate resources for programme delivery, reviewing and updating content to meet changing demands
Supervising and training Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and students.
Dietetic intervention takes place across a number of settings including children’s wards, special care baby unit, in clinic, and through home visits. We utilise telephone and video consultations frequently and support agile working. The service is comprised of a Team Lead, a Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Dietitian and a Disordered Eating Specialist Dietitian, with support from administrators and dietetic assistants.
