Main duties of the job

1. To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise of mainly patients with complex presentations. 

2. To work as an autonomous, clinical specialist physiotherapist. To work with the advanced practitioner physiotherapist to develop and deliver a high quality clinical service throughout BCUHB. Leading by example; provide a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of patients in a variety of locations. 

3. To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section in order to assess; clinically reason and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs where support may be required. Support staff to develop skills to identify potential serious pathology in patients referred for physiotherapy.

4. To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within the specialism and rotational staff base.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to – maternity cover
