Intelligent Resource is currently working in partnership with a public sector client in Staffordshire to recruit a Infrastructure Engineer whom will be a critical member of a team responsible for transforming and supporting all of the organisations digital technology needs.

Key Tasks;

  • Responsible for a team of network specialists
  • Deliver specialist 3rd line support for all network infrastructure platforms, supporting the implementation and design of new solutions and monitoring of overall system performance.
  • Support the availability and performance of the network infrastructure application delivery platforms, including performance of data centres, data storage services, Servers and back-ups by providing technical skills and knowledge
  • Responsible for all core network architecture, ensuring security and integrity of organisations systems this includes LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as management configuration of supporting security protocols.
  • Ensuring both the integrity and security of underlying infrastructure
  • Using Cisco ISE and SDWAN to ensure performance and is monitored and governed, using best practice approach to network infrastructure management
  • Provide technical knowledge that facilitates the relevant incident, configuration, availability, capacity, continuity, and release management in line with agreed procedures
  • Planning and organising team/individual activity to meet demands of workload, responsible for effective service level performance and performance standards of designated team of staff
  • Regular communication with various stakeholders in order to achieve desirable outcomes
  • Interpret statistical data and advise management of trends
  • Revise or develop procedures and policies, and contribute to their successful implementation in order to deliver appropriate benefits and ensure legislative or security requirements are met
  • Assisting IT partner to formulate strategic direction for the team
  • Make recommendations for improvements or amendments to systems within the team, providing reports and business cases to support
  • Provide and disseminate specialist/technical advice on issues relating to the service, interpreting or assessing needs and exercising judgement to make decisions when solutions are not obvious;
  • Provide specialist technical assistance to projects which may often be complex in nature, ensuring solutions meet the required quality levels and that specialist information and/or advice is offered to assist senior colleagues in making appropriate decisions;
  • Education, Qualifications and Experience;

  • Post graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Cisco CCNP certified
  • At least 3 years working in a 3rd line network engineer role
  • Technical/Operational Skills;

  • Juniper Junos experience
  • Knowledge of Cisco ISE
  • SDWAN knowledge
  • Firewall configuration knowledge
