Main duties of the job

The main roles and responsibilities may include gastro outpatient clinics and ward cover, the details to be discussed and agreed on appointment. Patient groups may include coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and liver patients.

You will be expected to keep referrers fully informed and to liaise with your supervisor in the event that onward referral to gastroenterology services is needed. The services uses an electronic patient management system where you will record notes, make appointments and generate letters.

Essential criteria

  • BSc Nutrition and dietetics degree or equivalent
  • HCPC registered

    • Desirable criteria

  • Working towards MSc or evidence of research qualification

  • Post registration training in specialist area/advanced diploma in dietetics

  • Evidence of service development and ability to use own initiative.
