Main duties of the job

The post holder will work to provide specialist safeguarding support to all clinicians providing supervision, advice, guidance and training relating to the Safeguarding agenda. A significant element of the role will be working in partnership within a multi-agency arena ensuring effective communication, learning and collaboration is progressed between BCUHB and partner agencies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Registered with NMC or allied health and social care professionals
  • First degree or equivalent evidence of knowledge
  • Good understanding of clinical governance
  • Good understanding of consent and capacity: Gillick, Montgomery, MCA
  • Good understanding of legal aspects of safeguarding and the importance of record keeping
  • Desirable criteria

  • Masters qualification
  • Experience of working in regulation and/or compliance
  • Experience of serious incidents and root cause analysis
  • Best Interests accredited training

  • Substantial post qualification experience working in a clinical setting
  • Experience of training Application form and interview development and delivery
