Job Purpose

:
To ensure that each voyage is optimised to deliver commercial success and to maximise the voyage returns safely and in compliance with local and international legislative requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Commercial Success:
Ensure that each voyage is executed to maximize the voyage returns within the terms of the charter party, COA or TC agreement.

This includes:

  • Liaising on loading volumes
  • Production of bills of lading
  • Sending voyage orders
  • Appointing agents
  • Implementing a commercially driven bunker buying strategy
  • Speed and consumption monitoring
  • Tank cleaning
  • De-slopping
  • Challenging port costs
  • Raising freight invoices on time
  • Raising invoices for other costs outside of freight or demurrage in line with the terms of the charter party, COA or TC agreement.
  • Check and approve EDAs, FDAs from agents
  • Ensuring that the shore-based software system to record ship movements is always kept up to date
  • Partake in the out of hours duty rota system

    • Regulations:
    Operators must be aware of all local and international regulations that affect the commercial success of the voyage.

  • Develop strong internal and external networks including:
  • Vessels
  • Agents
  • COA customers
  • TC customers
  • JFSS
  • JFT
  • Brokers

    • The above is not exhaustive, and you will be asked to perform Ad Hoc tasks in line with business needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Higher education or Maritime equivalent qualification
  • Must have the right to live and work in the U.K.
