Main duties of the job

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Taking history from patients and performing appropriate examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests and make an appropriate assessment and diagnosis. Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures subject to training and experience.

Utilise the early warning score system to triage patient reviews.

Initiate review and revise treatment and therapy plans, record and present findings in a manner consistent with local policies and procedures.

Assist medical and nursing staff in all clinical emergencies.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree in a life science and/or significant background in healthcare
  • Masters Degree in Physician Associate Studies
  • Registration with the UK Managed Voluntary Registry for Physicians Associates / Faculty of PAs
  • Undertakes continuing medical examinations to maintain ongoing certification
  • Membership of the faculty of Physician Associates at the Royal College of Physicians
  • Experience
