This post will take particular responsibility in the provision of administrative support via established processes and systems for health services to contribute to the new Education, Health and Care Planning (EHCP) process.

The EHCP process describes and provides support to children and young people who require additional support in school, due to complex needs or disability. 

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will work with the Designated Medical and / or Clinical Officer, to liaise with and develop good working relationships with professionals in health, education and care services as required.
  • The post holder will be the first point of contact for families, providing and seeking information, as well as managing inquiries and complaints in the first instance.
  • The post holder will be expected to develop good working relationships with the community paediatricians and a wide range of other health staff reporting for EHCP; in addition the post holder will work closely with SEND Education staff who coordinate and manage the EHCP process within the Hackney Learning Trust.
  • The post holder will manage a robust Excel system to track progress of requests and ensure deadlines are met and use the RiO database to search records and provide information.
  •  To manage and monitor tight time frames as part of the process, escalating any issues to line management and / or the Designated officers as appropriate; this will include management of information, records, calendars, databases, correspondence and reports.
