Main duties of the job
The OPMH crisis prevention support Occupational Therapy service will provide some weekend cover across a 7-day week, acting within a spectrum of OPMH services. The successful candidates will create processes and pathways to compliment the Occupational Therapy provision within primary care, the general hospital home first and D2RA teams, psychiatric liaison, memory assessment services, OPMH community teams and inpatient units. You will be a team player and be committed to excellence in seeking the most robust models of intervention to enhance functional independence and quality of life. You will be responsible for supervision and development of junior staff and be required to take Occupational Therapy students on practice education placements.
We offer a proactive, BCUHB wide, mental health Occupational Therapy team who work together to develop clinical skills and effectiveness across the older persons mental health Occupational Therapy pathway. We seek to expand the mental health Occupational Therapy provision across all three areas of BCUHB by evaluating service provision, developing business cases and running pilots. The Occupational Therapy service is committed to lifelong learning and evidenced based practice. All staff receive support and encouragement to utilise continuing professional development (CPD) and to maintain a CPD portfolio.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Â
