Salary – £46,000 – £51,000 (+ £2,500 car allowance) per annum- depending on skills and experience

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant on a full time permanent basis.

You will ensure timely delivery of accurate, consistent and relevant financial information for both internal and external reporting and produce annual statutory accounts for all Group entities which comply with accounting standards.

Within the role, you will complete the year end audit with external auditors.

You must ensure all balance sheet accounts are regularly reviewed and accurate; and ensure that the information provided is clear for the target audience, whether financial, non-financial, external regulator or statutory auditor

You will also ensure compliance and commit to process improvement and deliver change, where required, in financial controls, policies and procedures.

About you

You must be a self-confident, self-aware and aspiring accountant, who has provided input to a finance function; delivered results.

You will be a good people manager acting as a passionate advocate for change and have the ability to work corporately, managing multiple demands and conflicting priorities.

Good communication skills both verbally and in writing, with a clear, succinct, and flexible style are critical for this role, along with the ability to make finance understandable to non-financiers.

You will be required to have well-developed interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate and be able to establish personal authority and credibility, work across boundaries including with industry leaders and build sustainable relationships at all levels.

It is also essential that you are resilient, able to work in a large organisation and be comfortable with the extra constraints placed by public sector accounting and propriety.
