We are offering this excellent opportunity for a motivated BSc qualified and HCPC registered Band 6 podiatrist to join our community team. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified clinicians who have the skills and confidence to rise to the challenge of the role.

Oxfordshire Podiatry services offer care to an increasingly interesting caseload who suffer from metabolic, vascular, or neurological disorders

Main duties of the job

You, with support and supervision, will provide high quality treatments for patients referred into the service for assessment and intervention.

This will include:

  • High Risk and At-Risk routine care
  • Wound/ulcer care
  • Individual treatment plans
  • Referral for further investigation (Imaging, vascular, antibiotics, bloods etc)
  • Offloading techniques
  • Nail Surgery

    This full-time post is based in Didcot although the post holder may on occasion be required to work at clinics, visit patients in their own homes and attend meetings or training across the wider county. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for work. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

    Essential criteria

  • BSc Podiatry (or diploma in Podiatric Medicine with equivalent experience)
  • HCPC registration with local anaesthetic annotation
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Desirable criteria

  • Relevant postgraduate certificates or postgraduate diploma (or to be achieved within agreed timescale)
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Accurate assessment, testing and diagnosis of complex foot pathologies within the specialist eligibility criteria of the service and field of practice
  • Evidence of treatment planning/patient management
  • Effective communication and partnership working with patients/the general public, especially in respect of foot health education
