The role

The SEND & Pupil Support Team delivers statutory services for children and young people related to EHC needs assessments and the delivery and maintenance of EHC Plans for those aged 0-25 years, medical tuition for those with a health condition who cannot attend school and Day 6 tuition and support for those who have been permanently excluded from school.

Following our recent service redesign, we now need to recruit an enthusiastic and highly organised SEND Panel Officer. The postholder will ensure that arrangements for SEND Panels are efficiently coordinated in advance and run smoothly. A key task of the role is to accurately record minutes, decisions and actions, as well as following-up actions with parents/carers, schools and other partners as required.

The successful candidate will be educated to A-Level standard with 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English, and have previous experience in an administrative role within a fast paced environment. They will have a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the need to work to statutory timescales to deliver panels that adhere to these.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we continue to develop and improve to deliver a first class service to our children, young people and their families.

DBS clearance is required.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
