Main duties of the job

The Team Leader for the Child Health Department will provide an efficient service acting under the supervision of the Administration Manager. The post holder will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy to ensure delivery of services.

The post holder will have day to day management responsibilities for the administration and clerical staff within their responsibility. The post holder will ensure confidential and sensitive information is kept secure, and that all work is carried out in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures. He/she will proactively assist in the maintenance of high standards of professional practice throughout the department.

The post holder will collect, record, analyse, interpret and report of statistical data required to monitor compliance with the Welsh Government annual targets

The post holder will be expected to exercise initiative, prioritising conflicting work demands and effectively communicating verbally and in writing with a wide range of internal and external colleagues, exercising tact and diplomacy.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Able to demonstrate English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent level.
  • NVQ 4 in Admin/customer care or equivalent experience
  • Desirable criteria

  • ILM Team Leading qualification/ willingness to learn or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Experience

  • Previous office experience. Previous staff management experience
  • Experience of using Cypris (Child Health System)

    Essential criteria

  • Accurate VDU and keyboard skills.
  • Organisation ability to manage diaries, set up filing systems, work to strict deadlines and prioritise tasks.

  • Previous experience using the hospital WPAS or similar system
