Looking for a Assistant Service Manager to work with our team at Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge supporting adults who have; learning disabilities, Down syndrome, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. An Older population who are enjoying retirement and the comforts that this brings.

In this role!

  • Work closely with the Service Manager to inspire and motivate the team to provide a high quality service as well assist in implementing current legislation and CQC requirements
  • To support and promote Avenues vision, values and operating principles
  • To support and promote the F.R.E.D.I.E. principles of Fairness; Respect; Equality; Diversity; Inclusion and Engagement
  • Maintain a practical knowledge of policies and procedures and ensure appropriate usage
  • Effectively recruit, develop and manage employees in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You will motivate and inspire your team to provide outstanding support through effective training, coaching and leadership by example
  • Be expected to attend appointments with the people we support, attend care reviews, review and update care plans and risk assessments, record and monitor daily logs, lead shifts and administer medication
  • Day to day support for the people we are supporting

On successful completion of your probationary period you will be considered to undertake a Health and Social Care Level 5 Diploma at no cost to yourself. This will assist you in career progression within Avenues.

About YOU!

  • Experience supporting individuals who have learning disabilities, mental health needs and/or acquired brain injuries
  • Experience of supervising/managing a small to medium team within social care or be willing to be trained (including supervisions, probations, inductions)
  • Experienced with providing Person-Centred support and to be passionate about it
  • To be able to support people with personal care
  • Ability to manage own time and able to work under pressure
  • Be flexible and be able to work shifts required
  • Due to the nature of the role it would be desirable that applicants for hold a full valid driving license
