About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Liaison Officer on a full time fixed term basis.

You will be a key point of contact for customers across the business, to maintain and manage relationships with customers, contractors and other internal service users. You will actively support and carry out visits with customers to discuss decants, planned upgrades, projects, disposals, regeneration projects, community engagement activities and support the Regeneration Manager to deliver services.

You will be responsible for providing administrative support and acting as an assistant to the Manager and assist to deliver a first class decant and re-housing process in our regeneration areas and assets highlighted for disposal.

Within the role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all customers in any prescribed area are given the level of support and advice that they require during the regeneration / decant process and any specific project-based work required by the directorate.

You will be responsible for communicating with customers, surveyors, contractors and all colleagues from other departments across the business to deliver high quality customer care during housing modernisation, planned maintenance work, redevelopment/regeneration and the decant process. You will be required to be innovative, dynamic and solutions focussed, negotiating the best possible outcome for residents.

About you

It is essential that you have previous experience of housing and housing related matters and experience of working in a customer facing role with residents; and managing conflict and dealing with difficult situations when required.

You must be confident in negotiating complex situations and finding solutions while delivering excellent customer service.

Strong communication skills across a diverse audience group, both in writing and verbally, is critical for this role. It is also essential that you also hold strong influencing skills and relationship building skills across different departments.

You will use your initiative to identify any barriers to attaining high standards and works to overcome them and be able to use your creativity/adaptability in applying best practice.
