Main duties of the job

The post-holder is expected to work under their own initiative and act independently, whilst recognising when to seek assistance from senior staff.

The post holder will:

  • Participate in a range of specialised physiological measurement (patient diagnostic) services throughout North Wales, and provide scientific support to other staff working in these areas.
  • Provide scientific support in the specialist calibration service for audiology instrumentation throughout North Wales.
  • Participate fully in the services provided by the Section, providing scientific understanding, problem solving, and development to deliver modern quality services with clear patient and customer focus.
  • Provide scientific appraisal and analysis in appropriate areas, and contribute to scientific presentations and publications, actively identifying opportunities for development and improvement.
  • Provide training to other scientists, technicians, and clinical staff in appropriate areas of work.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
