This job-share post is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for a part-time role in which they can make a difference to some of the most vulnerable families in our care. You’ll be supported by an experienced team of specialist midwives, within a unit in which our safeguarding practice has been recognised as an outstanding feature of the unit.Â
You’ll have autonomy and flexibility to provide the care that women need and deserve. You’ll be operating within a team with a strong ethos resourcing enhanced care for those with extra needs; a borough with a culture of early help, great multiagency working, and with a local community drug and alcohol service with which we have strong links, and co-facilitate a service specifically for perinatal women and their children up to age 5 that has been featured on various forums as an example of best practice.Â
***working hours are 15 per week***
Main duties of the job
To ensure that women in Hackney affected by problem drug and or alcohol use, and their families, receive expert maternity care through:
-Sensitive, appropriate, individualised care based on the best available evidence and according to existing hospital policy and ensuring policies are updated as necessary
 -Dissemination of best practice to multi agency colleagues
– Effective liaison and communication between involved agencies e.g.: Community Drug / Alcohol Services (CDS), Maternity Unit, Social Services and Neonatal Services
