Main duties of the job

The opportunity has arisen for you to join a busy ward providing comprehensive administrative support to the nursing staff and doctors on the Ward. We are looking to recruit to x 1 permanent post of 22.5 hours per week.

Applicants must have an extremely flexible approach to work. They must have a pleasant personality and a positive approach to their work. Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills. A professional telephone manner is essential to receive and respond courteously to all telephone enquiries regarding patient care.

The ward clerks are an integral part of the ward team and the ward clerk position demands good team working and time management skills.

 Welsh to be learned on appointment within 12 months.

Essential criteria

  • Able to demonstrate English and Mathematics to GCSE C Grade or equivalent level RSA I or equivalent
  • Desirable criteria

  • NVQ II in Administration
  • ECDL
  • Aptitude and Abilities

  • Able to use electronic information systems
  • Able to contribute constructively to a team working environment
  • Ability to use own initiative whilst understanding the need to seek advice from senior staff where necessary
  • Clear, legible handwriting
  • Able to record information accurately.

  • Welsh speaking (minimum of level 3)
