Main duties of the job

The Informatics Department has an opportunity for a Bank Call Handler/Switchboard Operators covering Nights and Days at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

To work as part of a team providing a comprehensive, high quality switchboard service to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Out of hours, use a computer to find patients who have been admitted using the site specific system.

Operate the internal paging system to contact staff for both internal and external calls.

Bleep long range pagers, giving numeric and verbal information, awaiting response and putting caller through to department as requested, if no response, monitor situation and take appropriate action.

Carry out the various emergency procedures for cardiac arrest, fire, major incident, personal attack etc. and maintain records in accordance with standing instructions/operational procedures.

Replace batteries for internal paging receivers, arrange a replacement pager if faulty and provide instructions to bleep holders on correct usage.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
