There is an exciting opportunity for a 1 WTE Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly team based at Brighton General Hospital. You will be part of a large dynamic team and have opportunities to develop your clinical skills with support from both specialist and advanced practitioners.
You will be working with patients who live across Brighton and Hove. The postholder will manage a varied community caseload, with adults presenting with both progressive and non-progressive conditions and a range of communication and swallowing difficulties. Post-qualification dysphagia training and experience is essential and you need to have had at least two years’ experience in adult neurology.
We would consider applications from SLTs currently working as band 5. Applicants must already have a minimum of 6 months experience working within their band 5 role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Our service manages a varied caseload of adult acquired conditions presenting with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties. We see patients in their own homes, in nursing homes and in outpatient clinics as well as in intermediate care units and on the stroke ward at Crawley Hospital and work to a blended model of face-to-face assessment and therapy and remote consultations via video and telephone.
We offer student placements as well as training to inpatient settings, work closely with our multidisciplinary team colleagues and ensure our involvement and representation as part of the Trust’s Specialist Services in many Trust wide projects and developments.
