Main duties of the job

Undertake and solve routine problems following departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as; locating case notes, filing , tracking case notes.

Maintain an efficient filing and recording of information systems to meet the needs of the service.

Prioritise own workload whilst meeting the needs of the service and following relevant standard operating system.

Capture and transmit information using electronic communication media, working to agreed protocols/standard operating procedures within each speciality under supervision.

Work with colleagues to ensure referrals into service are processed on relevant systems, ensuring they are prepared to be passed to clinical colleagues within set timescales

Take and transcribe informal minutes such as team meeting minutes and process documents whilst providing clerical support ensuring data quality throughout.

Provide and receive routine information, orally, in writing or electronically. 

Answer telephone calls into the department in a professional and courteous manner, using knowledge, skills and initiative to answer and deal with the call. 

The post holder will be expected to undertake any additional duties and responsibilities to ensure that service delivery is effectively maintained appropriate to their grade and training.

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience / willing to work towards
