As a Band 5 registered nurse, you will carry out clinical practice ensuring high quality and current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge. Working as partners in care at all times with the parents and families to provide family centred care.

You will be supported and will gain the opportunity to enhance your skills through continuing professional development. It is a requirement of the role on SCBU that you need to complete the Neonatal QIS course, and will be supported with this.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Good communication
  • Able to present factual information.

    Desirable criteria

  • RN Child Branch
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance issues.
  • Basic knowledge of the physiology of the neonate/child and its relation to illness in the neonatal period.
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route. Non UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply should self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship by visiting Work in the UK . If you are eligible for the Health and Care visa, application costs are lower and you do not need to pay the annual Immigration Health Surcharge.
