Undertake assessment of admissions as allocated by nurse in charge.

To work independently within the clearly defined boundaries of the Assistant Practitioner competencies and scope of practice

Work with Registered Practitioners in the provision of nursing care for patients on the elective orthopaedic ward

To carry out clinical tasks through admission to discharge in a safe effective manner.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Foundation diploma/ degree in Healthcare Practice (Level 4) or equivalent Five GCSEs at grades A C or equivalent level of qualification, e.g. NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care related subject Be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy to key skills Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grade A – C in English and Maths) or working towards a level 4 aiming to complete the course within a year
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the Assistant Practitioner within the acute setting

  • The ability to work unsupervised in a variety of settings, taking responsibility for a delegated workload.
