Construction Design Management Advisor – London – up to 53K plus excellent benefits

Our prestigious client in London is recruiting CDM Advisors – NEBOSH – IOSH – Health Safety to work in complex construction environment within historic/heritage buildings.

Salary c53K plus excellent benefits package (civil service pension plus 30 days holiday)

You will be a CDM Advisor (CDMAs) within our clients Health and Safety team.

To provide assurance and where necessary support the development of effective arrangements across the organisation.

Essential Skills

NEBOSH General and Construction Certificates or equivalent.Tech IOSH, or similar and equivalent membership

Specialist knowledge and experience of construction safety legislation, standards and best practice.

Desirable

Degree or alternative construction related qualification.

Grad IOSH/CMIOSH

Experience of working in occupied and complex construction environments within historic buildings.

Responsibilities

Follow the principles of health and safety regulatory requirements and internal governance arrangements outlined in the Health and Safety Policy and associated supplements.

Undertake independent pre-construction and construction phase checks and audits on construction projects undertaken by the department monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of associated controls.

Compile evidence and appropriate assurance reports dashboards etc. describing duty holder performance during the pre-construction and construction phases of projects.

Contribute to checks, audits and peer reviews, lessons learned, cost benefit, value engineering and other exercises being undertaken by colleagues, staff within other departments and external organisations as required.

Experience of successfully managing a variety of safety issues and non-compliances, effectively adapting to changes in scope and project schedules or sudden events.

Experience of identifying solutions to complex situations with conflicting priorities and/or stakeholder requirements.

Able to use a range of persuasive techniques to influence behaviours of Senior Stakeholders, managers, staff, contractors and consultants to ensure their adherence to HS policies and procedures etc.

Experience of effectively explaining complex, technical verbal and written safety information and advice in a way that is understandable and meaningful to a range of lay and technical stakeholders and audiences with differing goals.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake security vetting
