JOB TITLE: GDF Cost Modeller
Permanent Role
LOCATION: Flexible WFH, with occasional Warrington or Didcot office presence.
SALARY: £45,000-£57,000
Excellent Permanent Employee Benefits including: Company Bonus (Between 15% – 30% dependent on performance)
Civil Service Pension (27% employer contribution)
Competitive holiday allowance (30 days holiday plus BH)
Full Time / Monday-Friday / 37.5 hrs per week

Part of NWS’ mission is to deliver a Geological Disposal Facility and provide radioactive waste management solutions. The GDF will play an important role in resolving the long-outstanding environmental issue of how we safely dispose of legacy and future nuclear waste. It will be one of the most significant national infrastructure projects in the UK and will create investment and employment opportunities which will last for decades

The Role:
The GDF Cost Modeller will support Project and Programme Managers with the forecasting of GDF Programme costs and the development and implementation of cost modelling tools, processes and procedures.
Key Duties:

* Undertake cost modelling activity and work with the programme to support identification of business case benefits and outcomes.
* Support capability building and the use of best practice in cost modelling and reporting. Provide expert advice for team members and project community.
* Support the ongoing development of cost modelling tools and techniques for the GDF Programme.
* Working with Project Managers to integrate project estimates into GDF near-term and whole lifecycle cost estimates, for the baseline scenario and scenario variants.
* Support the development and implementation of cost breakdown structures.
* Assist in challenging and testing project assumptions to ensure that programme estimates are realistic and achievable.
* Co-operating with risk managers and risk analysts to estimate cost uncertainty and quantify the cost impacts of risk.
* Support the monitoring and analysis of information and highlight areas of risk and opportunity.
* Maintain up to date lifetime cost estimates for the GDF Programme and underpinning projects, support periodic performance and planning reviews.
* Provide advice on cost modelling processes throughout the lifecycle of the programme to wider teams.

Must Haves:

Experienced in providing cost modelling in a major infrastructure project or programme.
Experienced in risk modelling and risk tooling.
Experience working in a rigorous programme controls environment.
Degree or HND or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Financial Modelling or other related field is advantageous.
Membership or working towards membership of relevant professional body (e.g. Association of Cost Engineers – ACostE).
Awareness of cost estimation/modelling techniques and proficiency with cost and risk modelling tools and MS Office.
Understanding of programme costing methodologies and techniques including risk & change management.
