UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK is an once-in-a-lifetime celebration of creativity taking place across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and online from March to October 2022. Shaped across science, technology, engineering, arts and maths, projects include a multimedia journey through 13.8bn years of history, from the Big Bang to the present day; the solar system recreated as a 10km sculpture trail; a spectacular technicolour city centre forest-garden; an exploration of the human mind involving an artwork you ‘see’ with your eyes closed; thousands of people coming together to make public artworks celebrating the UK’s landscapes; Wales transported 30 years into the future; a cutting edge AR and VR technology project immersing people in hidden histories in 15 towns and cities; a decommissioned offshore North Sea platform transformed into a major art installation in Weston-Super-Mare; and a multimedia convoy through England inspired by the Moon.

UNBOXED is looking for an Marketing and Campaigns Coordinator to plan and administer the smooth development and implementation of integrated marketing activity, supporting the Head of Marketing and Strategic Campaigns Managers, and working closely with colleagues from the wider Festival communications team, including the Social Media Manager. As a coordinator you will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating campaigns, ensuring the relevant tools and metrics are in place and contributing to marcomms reporting for partners and stakeholders. You will also be involved in procurement and liaison with external agencies and suppliers.

You will report directly to the Marketing and Campaigns Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, execution and tracking of Festival marketing and campaign activity, including print, email, social media and content
  • Act as key liaison for marketing team colleagues
  • Contribute to web and social media marketing, including blogs and written content
  • Email marketing database management and CRM
  • Create, proof-read, and edit copy, ensuring consistent tone of voice
  • Source images and other assets, such as film, including rights approvals.
  • Ensure the consistent and accurate use of the festival brand through liaison with the in-house Creative Studio
  • Help manage relationships with agencies and suppliers
  • Update Festival campaign plans, milestones and agency briefs
  • Work with the team to ensure electronic filing systems are managed properly
  • Help ensure marketing activity is responsive to and reflects our diverse audiences
  • Contribute to the overall delivery and objectives of the communications team and Festival.
  • Skills and Experience Required

    Essential

  • At least two years’ experience gained in-house or agency
  • Creative, proactive and delivery focused
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and time-management skills
  • Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working on marketing campaigns that include digital and non-digital channels e.g. print, outdoor, social media, digital display etc.
  • Experience of CMS
  • Experience of using email marketing systems (eg, Dotdigital)
  • Knowledge of CRM and data collection
  • Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Professional industry qualification
  • Interest in arts and culture
  • Clear understanding of brand management
  • Experience of working on cultural projects or events
  • Experience of project management tools, such as Smartsheets
  • Understanding of SEO (search engine optimisation)
  • Start Date: ASAP
    Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 31st Dec 2022
    Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum, pro rata depending on experience
    Location: 6 Brindley Place, Birmingham, B1 2JB (Full-time, office-based)
