Working for our organisation

Homerton Healthcare is an acute hospital located in the east London Borough of Hackney. It has a reputation for being a friendly and innovative hospital and was one of the first 10 hospitals to gain Foundation Trust status. The hospital also received university status in 2001 and provides training for medical students from Queen Mary College, University of London and nursing and allied health professions training for students from City University and the University of East London.

We are developing a strong all round Orthopaedic and Sports Injury service. The consultants support training and education and are keen to help each trainee progress ideally to a training number.

The department currently has shared orthopaedic and surgical wards within the hospital which provide an adequate number of beds for the department.

There is a dedicated day care surgery unit and this supplements full day operating sessions for each consultant plus trauma lists which are available throughout the week for emergencies.

The orthopaedic and fracture clinics, plaster room and appliance department are all in the main hospital building, which also includes an orthopaedic theatre with clean air system. The accident department and the X-ray department are in close proximity to the fracture clinic.
