Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a clinical nurse leader, working with the Management Team to identify opportunities for service change and improvement to encourage and enable advancement and development of associated evidence based services.

He/she will be instrumental in developing and implementing the Clinical Governance frameworks and in giving professional advice in relation to the development of services, within the Practice. They will be responsible for the planning of care coordination and services within the service and with all stakeholders.

To develop the nursing workforce/services that contribute to the delivery of the local service plans, Health and Well Being Strategies, and other national strategies that are:

  • Are based on patient and public involvement
  • Liberate the potential of staff
  • The Nurse Lead is jointly responsible, along with other nurse leads for the leadership and development of the nursing team and monitoring and improving quality standards and patient experience, ensuring professional challenge occurring as necessary.

    The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Master’s Degree or equivalant experience in nursing or health related subject or working towards with completion in three years
  • Significant relevant experience in a managerial experience
  • Teaching / assessing qualification or experience
  • Track record of significant continuous professional and management development
  • Leadership training or equivalent experience
  • Desirable criteria

  • Post graduate management qualification
  • Experience

  • Experience of Managing and leading a broad range of staff
