Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for full time and part-time Band 3 Health Care Support Workers to join the nursing team on the Childrens Ward.

The ward consists of 22 beds including 1 High Dependency bed, 6 Assessment unit beds. The ward is a busy combined surgical and medical ward.

JOB PURPOSE
To undertake assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care to the child, young person and their family in support of and supervised by a registered nurse.
To supervise and care for children and young people admitted to the childrens ward under the joint care of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • NVQ level 3 in health care which includes specific modules related to nursing care activities outlined within job description eg baseline observation, blood sugar measurement; or equivalent qualification
  • Desirable criteria

  • NNEB or equivalent
  • Experience

  • Recent experience of nursing in an acute health care setting
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience working within CAMHS team
