Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will promote, support and deliver the Antimicrobial Stewardship agenda and drive the innovation, teaching, training, audit and research necessary to support antimicrobial stewardship practices. This will be achieved through team leadership, multidisciplinary and collaborative working, both in primary and secondary care, while working closely alongside the Infection Prevention team, consultant microbiologists and the BCUHB pharmacy antimicrobial team across care sectors both within the central area and across the Health Board. The post holder will also be part of the senior pharmacy clinical leadership team.

There is a strong ethos of development and innovation: we have a number of non-medical prescribers running clinic sessions in their specialist areas and automated drug cabinets on most of our wards.

Research and development opportunities will be available and partnership working with HEIW and Cardiff University is encouraged. Career progression is actively supported by offering funded places on leadership, management and clinical specialist courses including the Advanced Clinical Practice MSc (run by Bangor and Glyndwr Universities).
