Salary: £27,095.24 – £29,352.51 per annum

Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is looking for an enthusiastic Skilled Chargehand to work in the Roads Service. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out kerbing, drainage and taring works and look after a team of up to 10 men and deputise for the foreperson when necessary. The successful applicant will also be expected to take part in winter maintenance operations and out of hours emergencies in both summer and winter.

Essential

A basic education (Numeracy and literacy)
Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ II, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards) or obtained within reasonable timescales

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
