Health Care Support Workers play a key role in the delivery of safe and effective care. As core members of the District Nursing Team, BCUHB (East) will recognise and value your contribution. Your role within the community will be challenging and requires commitment as we develop services across the communities of Wrexham and Flintshire. Qualifications / Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Good general education.
  • Qualification Credit Framework Level 111 (in Care / Health & Social Care) or working towards
  • Knowledge of consent and patient confidentiality
  • Understanding of role and function of Primary Health Care team
  • Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of completion of QCF at Level 2
  • Have an understanding of role and function of Health Services
  • Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Previous/current role to demonstrate working with members of the public in a health care setting
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in care setting.
  • Previous community experience
  • Aptitude & Abilities

    Essential criteria

  • Ability to maintain clear accurate records.
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Evidence of IT skills

  • IT skills, e.g. ECDL
  • Ability to speak Welsh
  • Phlebotomy trained

  • Demonstrate timely travel arrangements between patient’s homes, clinics and surgeries
