Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic nursing team. This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive leadership approach towards change. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. Managing and controlling the activities of the ward in an effective and efficient manner. Applicants will also be required to undertake Mentorship of Student Nurses and preceptorship of newly qualified nurses whilst assisting the ward sister in managing the Ward, and ensuring the very highest standards of care are being delivered.

All applicants must be a Registered Nurse, with recent experience at Band 5 and meet the Band 6 Job Description person specification. 

The successful staff member will receive induction and support. This is an exciting and fascinating opportunity for professional development and expertise in this field. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Has Good clinical knowledge of acute settign
  • clear understanding of governance issues

  • extended skills such as phlebotmomy and cannulation
  • evidence of carrying out audit
  • evidence of staff mangement – off duty / sickness and absence
  • Employer certification / accreditation badges
