Main duties of the job

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self motivated, experienced Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital. Applicants must possess a high level of audio typing skills, hold Medical Secretarial qualifications and are qualified to a minimum of RSA stage 3 (or equivalent). The successful applicant will be able to work on their own initiative and be able to work as part of a team. The post holder will be able to work within time constraints and be able to meet deadlines whilst being able to demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to maintain good and reliable records.

The ability to speak welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • NVQ Business Administration L4 or equivalent experience or
  • City & Guilds (AMSPAR) or
  • Diploma in Medical administration or equivalent medical secretary experience
  • RSA/OCR level 3
  • ECDL or equivalent experience

  • Management qualification or working towards
  • NVQ 3 Customer Service
  • ILM Level 2 (or working towards) relevant equivalent qualification
