This position works normal office hours with opportunities throughout the year to work overtime both during the week and over weekends. Within easy reach of Blackwater train station and local bus routes, we are ideally situated for both drivers and non-drivers alike.
Working under the day-to-day control of the Stores Supervisor, we are looking for an engaging and enthusiastic Stores Operative who will assist in the day-to-day operation of a thriving, fast paced warehouse department. The kind of duties you can expect to do will include taking delivery of goods and storing them in designated locations, packing and wrapping goods as well as checking for damaged or missing items and moving stock by hand or with machines. You will be required to assist with audits and carry out corrective measures to ensure stock is accurate, so a knowledge of computers and MS office is essential.
Working within a warehouse environment can be dangerous if health and safety measures are not in place, due to this, you must follow H&S guidelines, report any issues to your line manager and have a “can do positive attitude.” Although you will be working within a team, the right person will also be able to manage their own time, be a self-motivator and have excellent communication skills. The nature of this post will require someone who can load and unload heavy items so you will need to be able to lift boxes of up to 25kg. If you carry a Flexi/Bendi FLT licence, this would be advantageous but is not essential.
