Main duties of the job

The Generic Health Care Support Worker role will include assisting patients who need care and support to remain independent in their own homes with activities of daily living such as washing and dressing, meal preparation and prompting with the administration of medication. The role involves working in partnership with the dynamic multidisciplinary team and external agencies to meet individuals’ needs.

We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic to provide an excellent standard of care with the right values for this role. Full induction into the post will be supported and there are great opportunities for career advancement and the opportunity to develop additional skills such as venepuncture and recording of patient clinical observations following training and competencies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Qualification Credit Framework Level III (in Care / Health & Social Care) or working towards

  • Food Hygiene (basic)
  • Evidence of QCF at Level 2
  • Experience

  • Significant experience of working within a caring environment
  • Previous / current role to demonstrate working with members of the public in a health care setting

  • Demonstrate timely travel arrangements between patients, homes, clinics and surgeries
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
