Main duties of the job

This post is ideal for somebody who would like the opportunity to experience community work or develop their interests in the community setting further. The role incorporates the day to day management of patients within the community under the supervision of the Community Sisters and Clinical Nurse Lead, involving a variety of skills including wound care, continence management, palliative care, health promotion, venepuncture and more. Training will be available and candidates will be supported with an induction and a personal development plan. Full support will be given to those without community experience to gain the necessary skills required.

We are a supportive and forward-thinking team with clinical direction provided by a Clinical Lead, overseen by the Operational Team Lead and Clinical Service Manager .

    Qualifications
    Essential criteria

  • RN qualification / degree or diploma
  • ENB 998 or equivalent or work towards
  • Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of a range of clinical competencies
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Demonstrates competency in a range of clinical skills e.g. wound management, catheterisation skills, medicines management and administration, palliative and end of life care including management of syringe drivers
  • Knowledge of current local policies informing community health and social care services
  • A clear understanding of the role of Community staff nurse
  • Promote independence and choice in undertaking patient care
  • IT literate or willing to achieve within an agreed period
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, clinical audit and clinical supervision & professional codes of conduct
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
