Main duties of the job

  • Daily review of Incidents, coding, investigation and follow up
  • To provide support to the relevant clinical governance committees
  • To provide timely information reports for area meetings
  • Attend Area Governance meetings
  • Contribute to the organisation of any Area Governance forums/audit days
  • Undertake Root Cause Analysis timelines and support the investigation of serious and moderate incidents
  • Lead on and coordinate the Health Boards processes for ensuring compliance with the Duty of Candour regulations.
  • To provide training, support and advice on quality issues, patient safety, clinical governance and risk management to all staff
  • Support Quality and safety improvement work
  • Complete presentations and report writing
  • Deputise for the Head of Quality and Governance

  • Undergraduate Degree or professional qualification

  • Level 1 registered General Nurse
  • Educated to Masters Degree
  • Previous experience

    Essential criteria

  • Previous experience in a Clinical Governance capacity
  • Experience in developing GAP analysis, report writing, developing and participating in writing guidelines
  • Special Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Governance Framework
  • Continued management and leadership development
  • Desirable criteria

  • Risk management processes and DATIX. Good knowledge of NICE, royal collage recommendations and confidential enquiry reports
